Return & Exchange Policy

At Deer Park Woodwork, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of every piece we create. As wood is a natural material, each item will feature unique grain patterns, knots, and natural colour variation. These characteristics are inherent to wood and are not considered defects. While the overall design and pattern will remain consistent, no two pieces will be identical.

Minor surface imperfections may be filled using food-safe adhesive to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of the piece. By placing an order with Deer Park Woodwork, you acknowledge and accept the natural variation, characteristics, and finishing methods associated with handmade wood products.


Respectful Communication

We are a small, family-run business. We expect all communication to remain respectful and professional. Bullying, harassment, threats, or abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of communication and forfeiture of any consideration for exceptions to our policies.


Refunds, Exchanges & Material Allocation Policy

  • All sales are final. We do not offer refunds.

  • Store credit only, issued at our sole discretion, may be offered for cancelled orders.

  • All orders become non-refundable immediately upon placement.

Deer Park Woodwork purchases and allocates lumber immediately when an order is placed. Lumber is non-refundable to us once purchased. As a result, any order placed on our website is non-refundable once submitted, regardless of production stage.

This policy applies to all products, including in-stock items, made-to-order pieces, custom cutting boards, butcher blocks, and any items fabricated from lumber.

By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and agrees that materials are procured specifically for their order and that cancellation, modification, or refund is not possible after purchase.


Inspection & Damage Claims

All orders must be inspected within 24 hours of delivery. Any damage, defects, or issues must be reported to Deer Park Woodwork in writing within this 24-hour inspection window.

Failure to report an issue within this timeframe constitutes acceptance of the item in its delivered condition and releases Deer Park Woodwork from any responsibility or liability related to damage, defects, or carrier handling.

Claims submitted after 24 hours cannot be accepted, as carrier claim timelines will have expired. Once an item has been in the customer’s possession beyond this inspection period, we are unable to verify when or how damage occurred.

Wood products are sensitive to environmental conditions including, but not limited to, temperature changes, humidity, handling, cleaning methods, storage conditions, and lack of proper conditioning. Deer Park Woodwork is not responsible for damage resulting from these factors after delivery.


Exchange Eligibility

At our discretion, we may offer one (1) exchange per order under the following conditions:

  • Exchange requests must be submitted within 10 days of delivery.

  • Items must be unused, unaltered, and returned in original condition and original packaging.

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including customs duties, taxes, and brokerage fees where applicable.

  • Exchanges may only be made for items of equal or greater value. If exchanging for a higher-priced item, the customer is responsible for the price difference.

  • Deer Park Woodwork reserves the right to refuse an exchange if the returned item shows signs of use, damage, improper care, or inadequate packaging.


Final Sale Items

The following items are final sale and are not eligible for cancellation, return, refund, or exchange under any circumstances:

  • Sale or discounted items

  • Custom cutting boards and butcher blocks

  • Products with laser engraving or personalization

International Shipping Policy

We proudly ship internationally. Deer Park Woodwork is not responsible for any customs duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, or delays imposed during or after shipping. All such charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Orders refused or returned due to unpaid customs fees are not eligible for refund, replacement, or exchange.
