Description
The Belmont Sugar Maple End Grain Cutting Board is handcrafted from premium Sugar Maple and designed for durability, performance, and timeless appeal. Known for its light, airy appearance and exceptional hardness, Sugar Maple is one of the best hardwoods for cutting boards, offering long-lasting strength while remaining gentle on your knives.
Built using an end grain construction, this board absorbs the impact of cutting by allowing knife blades to slide between wood fibres rather than across them. This helps preserve blade sharpness and gives the board its natural self-healing properties over time. Despite its clean, minimal look, The Belmont is built to handle heavy daily use.
Each board is handcrafted and finished by hand, then conditioned with our signature board butter made from organic beeswax and food-safe mineral oil. This natural finish protects the wood, enhances the grain, and provides moisture resistance without synthetic additives.
Whether used as a primary prep surface, butcher block, or serving board, The Belmont offers a balance of beauty, function, and craftsmanship that elevates any kitchen.

Care Instructions
We provide these care instructions with each purchase of a board:
Do’s:
- Clean board with soap and cold water only.
- Wipe down with a damp cloth.
- Dry immediately with a towel.
- If your board does not have feet, air dry standing up or raised on a rack to permit airflow.
- If your board has feet, it can be laid flat to dry.
- Condition the board with a wax product, like our Board Butter, often for the first month to build up a water barrier.
Don’ts:
-Never put the board in the dishwasher
-Do not dunk or let the board stand in water
-Never use bleach
-Never place or rest hot things on the board like pots or pans that may burn or discolour the wood
-We recommend using our Deer Park Board Butter, a combination of mineral oil and beeswax, at the end of each day for the first month, to build up a water barrier.
