Care Instructions

How To Care For Your Board:

Below are the Do’s and Don’ts for the proper care and maintenance of your new Deer Park Woodwork board. By following these basic guidelines, you’ll ensure the board’s longevity- giving you years of use and enjoyment!

Do’s:

- Clean board with soap and cold water only.

- Wipe down with a damp cloth only - never place under running water.

- Dry immediately with a towel.

- If your board does not have feet, air dry standing up or raised on a rack to permit airflow.

- If your board has feet, it can be laid flat to dry.

- Condition the board after each use for the first month with a board wax, like our board butter.

Don’ts:

-Never put the board in the dishwasher

- Do not let the faucet from the sink run over the board

-Do not dunk or let the board stand in water

-Never use bleach

-Never lay flat to dry if your board does not have feet

-Never place or rest hot things on the board like pots or pans that may burn or discolour the wood

-Do not leave food sitting on an end grain cutting board, as this will cause moisture to build up and can lead to cracking or splitting

More Tips:

-We recommend using our Deer Park Board Butter, a combination of mineral oil and beeswax, after each use for the first month. Allways clean and dry promptly.

-Mineral Oil Is Not Enough To Protect a wooden Cutting Board.
